The Aeolus successfully combines beauty with exceptional design, using quality materials like leather, metal, and wood.
The headband is made of cowhide leather, and has one of the best feels out of all of the pairs I’ve ever used.
The Aeolus has a easily wider sounding than the HD6XX, even more so than the Focal Elex, Hifiman HE-6 and possibly the Audeze LCD-2.
The Aeolus has my top recommendation. I have no intention to sell my pair, and it will be tough to beat the features the Aeolus offers for the price.

The spacious sound with the engagement of the Aeolus creates a feeling as if you’re wading in the music.
It takes the apparent spaciousness of the sound in the track and adds rhythm, color, and takes on a rather dramatic character.
It sounds so good that the resolving and engaging presentation is an afterthought as you enjoy the music.
The Aeolus is an awesome headphone with a unique, deep expression.
I’m sold by both the aesthetics and the sound of the Aeolus.
It is a truly deft headphone that allows interpretation through the scene that it skillfully interprets.

There was a special and emotional moment I had on a song that I’d been very very familiar with.
This emotional moment was the realization that I was listening to this song at the most satisfying I had ever heard it before.
The vocals and dynamic experience was really fantastic.
Even when I must’ve heard the song hundreds of not a thousand times before, it was an experience I won’t soon forget.

Aeolus takes the popular ZMF Atticus and puts it in an open shell, expanding the soundscape and giving the headphone an airier feel.
Fortunately, Aeolus keeps my favorite parts of the Atticus: the lush, creamy midrange and big bass impact.
This is one very easy headphone to listen to, with a signature that accomplishes the rare feat of being both exciting and non-fatiguing.

Spoiler alert: we adored the sound of the Aeolus. We’d be crazy not to.
They are truly glorious, presenting the kind of confident, assured picture that other manufacturers only wish they could achieve.
Vocals dazzling you with their energy and presence.
We genuinely don’t think there are any other headphones in this price range that can beat the Aeolus for impactful mids.
The Focal Clear are great; the ZMF Aeolus are spectacular.
Symbols sizzled, violins seemed to stretch into infinity, and the level of detail was terrific.
Up until now, we’ve always thought that the best headphones were made by companies like Sennheiser.
Compared to the Aeolus, however, they sound weedy and thin, with not nearly enough energy.
Even compared to pricier models, like the HD800s, the difference is dramatic.
