The sound I was hearing when listening to Qobuz was mind-blowing.

Incredibly transparent and very « non-digital » sound.

I could close my eyes and imagine myself sitting in the studio’s control room.

The sound that came forth from my speakers was uncanny.

I would often whip my head to the right or left, thinking someone had entered my listening room unannounced.

It often sounded like I was listening to an unreleased version of Obscured By Clouds

because never have I heard this album sound so realistic.

This high-end audio equipment is made by those who love music.

It was immediately apparent within a matter of seconds that what I was listening to was a class act.

The soundstage is itself impressively portrayed.

Detail in spades but not achieved by artificially boosting the treble or presence band.

Powerful and dynamic with speed and yet grace.

It’s certainly one of the best sounding amplifiers I have had.

Because of the typical Aavik/Ansuz bottomless pit noise floor, with zero hash, soundstages ring true and imaging is pinpoint.

The 280’s representation of instruments and the human voice is superb.

It’s hard to describe how low noise floors allow more music to reach your ears.

It’s something that should be experienced first-hand,

I had no idea my overall views on audio would be changed so dramatically.

It sounded as vibrant and alive as any integrated amplifier on the market, tube or solid-state.

It’s not about whether this incredible electronic device sounds good–it’s about whether or not it sounds like music.

It does, to a degree that I’m still trying to put into words…
