A few years ago, I installed Focal Utopia loudspeakers in Mr F.’s home

paired with a beautiful Naim NAP300 / NAC 252 / CDX2 / Supercap system…

When he decided to replace the loudspeakers with the new Utopia Scala Evos, truly magnificent in their walnut finish,

the Audio Analogue Absolute was chosen for amplification.

.

.

And the Accuphase DG-68 was chosen as the DAC, to take advantage of its room-correction capabilities.

For CD playback, it is paired with the Audio Analogue AA Drive.

Esprit Lumina handles the loudspeaker and interconnect cabling.

Power is supplied through the (magical) Murmure Audio Absolute power strip.

And a Naim NDX2 takes care of streaming.

HARBETH M40.5 XD2s on TonTrager stands can work wonders, even in small rooms!

An Accuphase A-48S power amplifier (2 × 50 watts in Class A), fed by a Cayin Soul 170C valve preamplifier.

The source is a Sforzato DSP-07EX streamer/DAC with its optical Ethernet converter.

All the cabling is Hemingway, and mains conditioning is handled by the exceptional Accuphase PS-1250!

Mr H., a classical music enthusiast, is extremely sensitive to clarity, nuance and microdynamics.

He therefore chose the Tidal Piano G2s. The finish of these loudspeakers is simply in a class of its own!

Amplification is provided by a Naim NAP250DR / NAC 282 / HiCap combination.

The DAC is a B.Audio with a very high-quality streaming section, connected to the network by a Wireworld Platinum cable.

The CD transport is the Audio Analogue AA Drive, connected to the DAC with a Wireworld Platinum AES cable.

Mains power is handled by a Gigawatt PC-3 SE EVO+ with matching cables.

To enjoy finesse on a par with the rest of the system, the headphones are Focal Utopias.

Everything sits on a beautiful solid-walnut HiFi Racks stand.

Focal Scala Evos once again, this time in a hybrid hi-fi and home cinema system.

An Utopia Viva centre speaker, with two Utopia Diablo Evos at the rear.

The two subwoofers are field-coil Utopia EM EVOs, driven by Gato power amplifiers…

The preamplifier is a Trinnov Altitude 32-816, paired with Gato power amplifiers.

Cabling to match: Wireworld Platinum, Hemingway Z Core…

Mains power is handled by the Torus AVR16.

.

.

The other rooms have KEF Reference 9000 in-wall loudspeakers, powered by Gato DPA-4004 and DPA-2506 amplifiers.

Last year, I installed a Harbeth SHL5 XD system in Michael’s (large) bedroom, with Cayin CS845 Reference amplification and a Wattson Madison streamer.
The result made him realise the shortcomings of his main system (Marten loudspeakers, Gryphon amplification and a DCS Bartok streamer).
An initial trial with the Sforzato DSP-07EX streamer, despite costing a third as much, decisively outperformed the DCS in every respect: soundstage, dynamics, substance and tonal colours.
The final choice was a high-end Sforzato (the three-chassis DSP-05EX with an external clock), together with a Roboli Ethernet switch, a Murmure Audio Absolute mains filter and various cables.
We then tried several preamplifiers, including the CSPort C3PR with its C3g valves. It immediately brought the missing harmonic richness, but could not compensate for the heaviness and, above all, the lack of nuance in the Marten loudspeakers’ bass.
Another trial, with the Thrax Dionysos, brought the light that had been missing from the system and better bass control, but its high gain was clearly unsuited to the Gryphon.
The final choice was the Phasemation CM-2200, an exceptional passive preamplifier with adjustable gain.
Listening with Phasemation MA-2000 monoblocks made him realise the limitations of his Gryphon Essence.
Then it was the loudspeakers’ turn: the comparison with the less expensive Stenheim Alumine 5 SEs was stark…
Michael immediately put his Tenor 2 Statements up for sale.
The system has become exceptional; all that remains is to find a buyer for the Martens!

A few years ago, I had installed Gauder Akustik Vescova speakers, an Accuphase E-450 amplifier and its matching DP-500 CD player in Flanders, with PS Audio mains filtering.
After upgrading his source with an Innuos Zenith MKIII streamer, two Phoenix units (USB reclocker and Ethernet switch) and an Accuphase DAC board, then his power supply with a Murmure Audio Absolute power strip, Bart replaced his amplifier with the latest Accuphase E-5000.
We have now replaced his loudspeakers with Stenheim Alumine 2.5s, his DAC with the brand-new Accuphase DC-500 and his streamer with the new Innuos Stream 3, with Phoenix USB reclocking and the incredible Hemingway Z-Core LAN Ethernet cable. Everything rests on Graphite Audio spike shoes!

A magnificent Gamut D3 / D200 system with RS 5 loudspeakers!

The streamer is by Naim, and the turntable by Transrotor.

After several happy years with Harbeth SHL5s and two REL S/510 subwoofers, Mr C. moved to Harbeth M40.5 XD2s, still on Tontrager stands.

The Audio Analogue Maestro was replaced with the Accuphase E-5000, and the Aqua La Scala MKII DAC with the new MKIII model,

still fed by the Innuos Zenith MKIII and its two Phoenix units (USB and Ethernet).

The Hemingway Z-Core LAN Ethernet cable replaces the Wireworld Platinum.

And the icing on the cake: the new Accuphase PS-1250 mains filter with a Hemingway Indigo power cable!

The Wilson Audio Maxx 3s (190 kg each…) are in place in one particularly happy customer’s home!
An Audio Aero La Source CD/SACD player and Reimyo amplification.

A few years ago, I installed an Ayon Audio system with Gamut L5 loudspeakers.

After replacing the amplification with an Audio Analogue Maestro and considering several streamers and DACs,

we decided to simplify the system with the all-in-one darTZeel LHC208,

which outperformed the possible configurations using separate components.

The loudspeakers use Esprit Eterna cables; the single power cable is still to be chosen!

Photographic proof that Harbeth M40.2 40th or M40.3 XD loudspeakers can fit and work perfectly well in ordinary rooms!

Mr D. wanted to avoid overly bulky electronics, so the choice fell on

an Innuos Pulse streamer and a Chord Hugo TT2 DAC directly driving a NAD M23 power amplifier:

.

.

.

.

.

The same goes for the relatively large Cube Audio Nenuphars,

whose recommended corner placement allows them to integrate beautifully.

Amplification is provided by a Jadis integrated amplifier,

with an Innuos Zenith, Chord Hugo TT2 and M-Scaler as the source.

Keeping to the same approach, the headphones are Hifiman HE1000SEs.

Rega takes centre stage:

An Aethos amplifier, Saturn-R CD player, Planar 8 turntable with Neo PSU, Apheta cartridge and Aria MC phono stage.

The loudspeakers are the indispensable Harbeth SHL5s on TonTrager stands.

A beautiful Electrocompaniet AW250 R + EC 4.8 MKII + ECM 1 MKII + ECP 2 MKII system.
A Rega RP 8 takes care of analogue playback.

The loudspeakers are the new and remarkable Acoustic Energy Coriniums.

The cabling is, of course, Esprit Eterna.

Many years ago, Mr F. bought Spendor SP9 loudspeakers from me.

Amplification is provided by a Gamut D3i with D200 monoblocks, connected with an Esprit Eterna XLR cable.

With the room’s particularly difficult acoustics, the loudspeakers were replaced with Harbeth SHL5 40th Anniversary models,

which are particularly forgiving in challenging acoustic environments.

They use Esprit Eterna cables and Rogoz Audio stands.

For the source, an Innuos Zenith streamer is connected to a Merason DAC1.

The racks are by Solidsteel.

.

.

.

.

.

Delighted with the Harbeth SHL5s I installed in his living room, Mr W. chose the following for his listening room:

an Audio Analogue Absolute amplifier and an Aqua La Diva M2 transport with an Aqua Formula xHD DAC.

As the room is relatively large for the Magicos, a Velodyne DD10+ subwoofer takes over below 35 Hz.

With its 1,250-watt RMS amplifier and servo-control system, which keeps distortion extremely low,

it reaches 18 Hz at −3 dB.

Automatic digital calibration provides excellent integration with the room and a perfect match with the loudspeaker.

Mains power is handled by the exceptional Murmure Audio Absolute.

The remaining cabling will be optimised in the coming weeks, after running in.
