La presse en parle

It has power, unbelievable depth and sub-bass presence.

Caldera bass to mids tuning is so impressive. It is incredibly linear and perfectly extended right down to 20Hz

with virtually nothing in the way of attenuation to rob it of presence and power.

Instrumental separation is spot on, with imaging spread out wide and deep creating an almost concert hall-type experience.

It is one of the cleaner-sounding sound signatures but without a hint of any troublesome planar treble steeliness.

I was simply not expecting this huge emotionally enjoyable sound complete with that trademark easy-to-listen-to tuning

from an incredible high-end debut planar.

The Caldera is simply a phenomenal first planar by ZMF. It is powerful, subtle, emotional and technically adept.

I cannot think of much that I would change, and that is rare for me.

I have never given an audio product a 5 star rating, but the Caldera is worthy.

The bass is deep and taut, the midrange is open and articulate, and the treble is sparkling without ever crossing over into sibilance.

A most hearty recommendation.

The Caldera isn’t lean like a Hifiman Susvara, Final D8000 Pro, Meze Elite, or T+A Solitaire.

As a band nerd through college, I’ve always focused more on making sure instruments sound like, well, instruments.

The Caldera strives closer to this goal than the Susvara, so I personally will pick the Caldera over the Susvara almost every time.

This headphone is for enjoying music.

After a couple months with the Caldera, I think about how much I’m going to miss how I’m able to experience my music with it,

and now, without question, I’m preparing my wallet for the sting of buying one of my own.

ZMF Caldera vs HIFIMAN Susvara :

The Susvara has more resolution, but it is more fatiguing.

Susvara soundstage is deeper, with a more ethereal sound.

Caldera has a more solid soundstage, with a more full-bodied sound.

It does vocals as well as the Susvara, but is less demanding in terms of amplifiers.

Caldera also has better bass, better slam, better clarity, and much better timbres.
